Consent in the moment, not just in the plan
A plan can agree what might happen, but consent is checked again in every moment. Here is how to keep asking, listening and pausing.
A plan can set out what you're open to, but consent is something you keep giving throughout. People can change their minds at any point, for any reason, and that choice has to be respected.
Keep checking in
Ask simple questions, such as "is this good?" or "would you like more?", and watch for body language. A pause, a change in breathing or a shift in tone is a reason to check.
Respect the answer
If the answer is no, or not now, stop and make space for it without argument. Don't treat a previous agreement as permission for something new.
Make stopping easy
Agree on a stop word or gesture, and make sure both of you know it. Make it clear that stopping is always fine, and that it won't be held against either of you.
